Scottish soprano Beth Stirling is currently undertaking her Master of Performance degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, taught by Sarah Pring. She previously earned her Bachelor of Music (Hons) at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2025, under Christopher Turner. During her time at RBC, she won the Stuart Cameron Smith American Song Prize in 2024. Other awards include joint first prize in the Birmingham Festival Choral Society Oratorio Prize.

Recent opera credits at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire include Belinda, Dido and Aeneas; Emmie, Albert Herring; Sixth Spirit, Cendrillon; Young Frog, The Cunning Little Vixen. In opera scenes roles included First Maid, Daphne; Lucy, Die Dreigroschenoper; Mélisande, Pelléas et Mélisande; Tweedle Dum, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

In 2024, Beth made her solo debut at the Royal Albert Hall with the BBC SSO and NYCOS as part of the BBC Proms where she portrayed the Second Fairy in Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In concert, Beth recently performed Mozart’s Mass in C Minor, Solemn Vespers, St. John Passion, Missa Sancti Nicolai, Handel’s Messiah, Fauré’s Requiem.

 Beth is also an experienced ensemble singer, having sung with Ex Cathedra, CBSO Chorus, RBC Chamber Choir and continues to sing with the National Youth Choir of Scotland with Christopher Bell.

In April of 2025, Beth released her first album titled Beneath the Northern Sky alongside her colleague Sarah Potjewijd, featuring Scottish contemporary music.

Future engagements include Yniold in Pelléas et Mélisande with the BBC SSO at the Aldeburgh Festival. Beth will also be performing Elijah; Carmina Burana; Mozart’s Coronation Mass; Mozart’s Requiem; Beethoven’s Mass in C and Handel’s Messiah.
